Here’s What Truly Matters For Creative Success (Including Writing)

I’ve been writing for almost five years now. There were bad days and good. Viral articles, unexpected opportunities, and thousands in income. These were the good times, which happened occasionally. However, most days are tough—there are no engagements, it isn't easy to grow, and there are tons of hours of work without results, etc.

If you take a writing (or any creative course), you might learn to write better. But proper lessons come from your own experiences. You must see both the good and the bad, and confront them, to grow as a truly creative person.

When I was new to writing, I’d chase the views, likes, and comments. I’d refresh my stats page every few minutes to see how much the numbers have grown. When they were high, I’d be happy. And when they were low (which was more often), I’d constantly have emotional turmoil — Am I not good enough? Why haven’t the views grown much?

I spent years fumbling around with my creative work, chasing the numbers, and relying on the outcome to measure success. It took me almost three years to understand the true nature of creative success.
