HOPE/HOPEFULNESS
Hope Stories and Illustrations
To cure the hopefuless soul
There’s always hope. Hope springs eternal. Where there is love, there is hope. We’ve all heard them. The hope idiom. The hope quote. Hope is one of the most important four-letter words in the English language. Without hope, we have nothing to look forward to. There’s no future fear when there is hope. I hope this collection of illustrations and stories about hope encourages you to become more hopeful throughout your life.
Someone asked me a question about hope
“Does God love me?” He asked the question.
I said, “God loves everyone. God is love. So do you love him? Do you hope in him?” I answered back quickly.
The moral of the question is:
To love God, you must show hope. Never give up hope. You love God because he first loved you. You cannot lose by loving God. So, don’t start to lose hope in him.
Sunflowers have hope
As sunflowers turn their faces toward the sun, following the path of sunlight, may we also turn our hearts to the Son of the most high, Jesus Christ, and follow his hope. He is our hope. Sunflowers are hopeful flowers. Sunflowers soak up radiation. Sunflowers were planted in Chernobyl to make it new again after the radiation disaster that occurred there. There’s much hope in the power of the sunflower.

Hope is like a clothes line
Hope is like a clothes line. The clothes shouldn’t hang on the clothes line by themselves. The clothes need clothespins to keep them from falling. With the help of the clothespins, the clothes dry in the wind. Without the helpful hope from the pins, the clothes would fall to the ground, only to be picked up and washed all over again.
Moral of the story:
Be the clothespin that holds hope together in a fallen world. Hope is your assistance whenever you need it.
A hope prayer
Dear God,
Grant me the hope that fills my heart today. Give me hope for what I have to say. Define my dreams for the future and where they might lead, and guide me with the hope of making them succeed. Lord, give me hope for better days, and better ways to evaluate my life. Break the strongholds and chains that grip me in hopelessness. Grant me the hope I need to face my new tomorrows with strength and dignity, whatever the cost. Thank you for the hope your beloved son grants daily. Please continue giving me hope I need. I have tried my best in the toughest of times. I don’t want to lose hope. Show me that your plans are better than my dreams. Amen.

My Hope Chest
I still have my hope chest. I never got married or had children. I felt so much pressure, as the oldest daughter in the family, to do so. I still have grandma’s beautiful lace handkerchief in my hope chest. I wanted to give it to my future daughter someday. I had hoped to get married. For years I did, and things never worked out. My mom brought me a beautiful Chinese-patten place setting for my birthday. It’s still in my hope chest. I never got to use it. I know hope springs eternal, but at almost 80 years old, I don’t hold out much hope anymore. I’m okay with that. Dreams come and go, we can’t live our lives just for show. Someday, I’ll pass it on to my niece and explain to her what true hope used to be. Maybe she can pass on the tradition someday. In her own hopeful way.
Conclusion: Hope is where the heart is
When my mom died a few years ago, God told me not to dwell on it. He said to keep moving, and keep hope in your heart. That’s when this small four letter word, Hope, entered my coincidence. Hope propelled me forward after my grief. My newfound hope allowed me to keep going. The word hope is now my inspiration, my muse, and my message.
