How ChatGPT Replaced 30% of My Workload
An honest look at how AI freed up my time and helped me work better.
A year ago, I experienced burnout. I have too many tasks to complete. There is insufficient time available. I can’t scale myself. So i decided to try ChatGPT. I believed it could help me come up with ideas or write emails. I doubted that would take up approximately 30% of my work time.
To be clear, I’m not a tech person. I don’t write codes. I don’t work for a startup. I’m just a typical worker who does research, writing, planning, and talking to others. This is how ChatGPT helped me get my work done faster, easier, and occasionally better.
1. Writing the first draft
It used to take me hours to write. I’d start, stop, think too much, and redo. I compose a short brief and send it to ChatGPT. In a few minutes, I get a draft back. It’s not ideal, but it’s a good start.
I edit 500 to 700 words instead of staring at a blank page. I get rid of what I don’t need and polish what I do. It used to take three hours, but now it just takes one.
Tasks that were replaced:
1. Making plans for longer documents
