So when someone subscribes to you on Medium, here’s the kind of notification you’d receive:

To follow a writer on Medium, you just have to go to their profile and click ‘follow’. But here’s the thing: many writers confuse what it actually means and tell people “I got 1000 subscribers.” There is a huge difference.

The main issue with followers is that due to Medium’s strange algorithm practices and a small chance of distribution, your articles will be shown only to a TINY fraction of your followers.

Subscribers

Subscribers are way more important! These are the people who go to your profile and click the email icon.
