Setting goals is crucial, especially if you're a writer aiming to make money online.

But let's be honest, the internet is flooded with useless guides, and I find that incredibly frustrating.

Many writers struggle with this, but I’ve found a method that works—even if you’re new to the online writing game.

Here’s my 4-step framework for setting goals that actually make you money as a writer.

1. Find Out The Problem

The first step is to clearly identify the problem you’re solving through your writing. Many writers set goals without knowing the real issue, which makes the goal pointless.

As a writer who's just starting or trying to grow, your goals might be:

  • Getting more reads
  • Making your writing more valuable
  • Increasing your overall authority as a writer

These are the basic goal templates for writers. If your goal doesn’t fit into one of these categories, it might not be worth pursuing.
