How Many Stories A Week Should You Publish on Medium?
More Than You Think!
A lot of writers believe it’s okay to post once or twice a week, but I strongly disagree on this one. It’s a terrible advice, especially for new writers.
Consistency, quality, and authentic engagement are some of the main factors that determine if you will be successful here on Medium.
My Strategy
I’ve been doing a solid job of posting at least five stories per week, but that doesn’t mean I post every single day.
Instead, I have a more flexible schedule. I might publish two stories on one day, take the next day off, and then publish more stories over the following days.
Posting in Different Publications
Assuming I post five stories on five different publications, it will be just like posting one story a week in each publication, which is not an effective strategy.
To really stand out in any publication, you need to post there more frequently, so you might need to post more than 5 stories per week if you post in different publications.
Being Active
Being active and engaging with the community is just as important as posting stories. Medium was founded as a platform to interact and learn from other writers, so a good tip to remember is to read more than you write.
Also, by reading and engaging with posts in my niche, I can discover popular topics and writing styles that people in my niche like.
Finding The Right Posting Frequency
The ideal number of times to post on Medium varies depending on your goals, how much you’re able to do, and what you’re interested in. While posting five times a week works for me, you might find a different schedule works better for you.
The important thing is to have a regular posting schedule to stay visible and to be a big part of the community. Success on Medium isn’t just about posting regularly, but also about how you engage with and contribute to the community of writers.
