Finding your niche?

It’s a misleading question.

Most people can’t start writing because they spend 1,000 hours thinking about their niche.

The right question before finding your niche is: Why do you write?

Why do you write?

Most people aren’t honest with themselves.

Sit down and ask yourself: Why do you write?

If your goal is just to have something to say, you don’t even need a niche.

If your goal is to:

  • promote a nerdy business
  • build authority
  • find clients

Then you might need a niche.

Again, the next question most people never ask themselves is: Why do you need a niche?

Why do you need a niche?

Starbucks can sell coffee to anyone.

But not everyone cares about a $300 espresso.

Its target is super specific: coffee nerds.
