How To Publish Something Every Day When You Have Nothing to Say

Everyone has been in this scenario.

You have the word processor of your choice open.

You’re trying to get in the zone and you need to write something. Anything. Maybe you have a blog that you’re just starting and it’s important to keep momentum.

Maybe you’re on a deadline and you need to get something out.

Perhaps you write a column and the publishing time is near and you’re staring at a blank screen.

It’s okay everyone has been there before.

But here are a couple tips to use when the words are failing you.

Check Current Events

There’s always something going in the world.

A volcano explodes.

A tornado has hit some little town in the Midwest.

A Bachelor contestant says something dumb.

You know, just things that are happening. Then you go “What do I think about this?” and then start typing.

Everyone has an opinion on something. That’s what makes the Internet work.

Like, when I run out of ideas then I just start talking about television shows.
