I Check My Medium Earnings First Thing In The Morning

As we all know, blogging isn’t the easiest job in the world.

It’s not a regular 9 to 5 job, it’s not a fixed salary, and your income depends on views, reading time, algorithm, reader engagement, etc.

So when you have a job like that, you have to monitor your progress very closely.

Earnings

I get extremely anxious about my Medium earnings. I’ve been up and down on this website many, many times. I’ve earned very little, and then I earned a little bit more, then a lot more. And when that happens, you start to get a routine.

I check my earnings first thing in the morning. I check my stats. I work out what was different from the day before.

And then I try to top it. I try to write more stories, share more, advertise on more platforms… I try to think of more stuff to write about, I check other people’s success stories, earnings anecdotes, etc, etc, etc…

This is all part of my life as an online blogger. Fun, right?
