Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a very clever and brave Zen master whom everyone considered wise and calm.
He was known for his deep wisdom and calm nature, and people would often come to him for advice.
One day, a squadron of highly aggressive samurai warriors attacked the village. They pushed into every house and scared people there. The ruthless leader of the samurai was a cruel man and a thorough intimidation.
He wanted to show everyone his power and make them submit to him. As he went through the village, someone told him about the Zen master and how calm and fearless he was.
This baffled and enraged samurai leader resolved to question the Zen master directly. He marched to the temple, pushed open its doors, and found the master sitting quietly, still meditating. The Zen master did not flinch, did not look scared at all. Instead, he sat perfectly still, as if the chaos outside did not exist.
