Comment trading makes me feel lost.

I don’t want to be a commenter, spending 4–5 hours a day just to make 5 bucks.

That doesn’t align with my goals.

I want to improve my writing every single day.

I want to craft more valuable posts.

I want to spend my time on other aspects of my life.

So, I made a tough decision.

I’m shifting my Medium strategy from 80% commenting and 20% writing to 80% writing and 20% commenting.

You might think I’m crazy.

I know some of you will say, “Ron, just comment ruthlessly like a mad dog. That’s the only way to grow on Medium.”

But here’s the result: my reads hit a new low of 11 reads a day.

Do I feel discouraged? No.

Do I feel miserable? No.

Do I disappoint myself because of a wrong decision? No.

Because…

I have more time to read books that improve my life.

I have more time to spend outside.
