They constantly tried to set me up with girls they knew or thought I would like.

She was a calm and nice girl. Our minds adapted from the first minute. The idea of marriage had firmly settled in my mind. Our families reacted almost equally to this surprising event. They were modest people with average incomes.
When the subject of marriage came up, she was talking about how her friends who got married before her received marriage proposals.
She was explaining in detail. Surprises, organizations, proms, expensive solitaire rings, etc. In fact, most of them were just like in romantic movies or TV series.
