Inspire Young Minds In The Least Expected Ways!
I have known a boy who suddenly had to relocate to a new country from where he was born and raised.
He lost his blissful life, good education, and childhood friends.
His struggles and hardships began when he faced a new environment, culture, language, and education system.
Everything seemed lost — comfort, friends, and the education he dreamt of.
He lost hope, motivation, and desire.
With several distractions to lure young minds, his parents feared his life might take a wrong turn and lead him down the wrong path.
Six months after their relocation, my book Serverless Development on AWS for O’Reilly was published in early 2024.
When I received copies from the publisher, I set one aside — to gift the boy.
A few weeks later, I packed it and handed it to someone to deliver.
My family was critical of me sending it as a gift. They felt that the topic was not something he would grasp, as he was just finishing high school.
They were right, but I had other reasons. I wasn’t expecting him to read my book anyway. However, I hoped he would keep the book somewhere he sees it — as a reminder.
My family didn’t know I had signed the book with a brief message and kept a note inside with three motivational points.
Why is it important to inspire young minds?
The world is constantly changing — geography, technology, lifestyle, culture, habits, hobbies, etc.
There are many dreadful things with the potential to derail the paths and futures of less life-experienced young people.
Hence, before it is too late, we must instill long-lasting good habits in them, such as learning, maintaining a positive attitude, being humble, and the importance of hard work.
Why inspire them in the least expected ways?
Recurring events such as birthdays, new years, festivals, etc., have become cliches.
Many exchange gifts as tradition and out of expectation and compulsion.
