Our sleep is broken into five stages.

The first four, called NREM (Non-Rapid Eye Movement) are generally dreamless. The fifth is the REM where the majority of dreaming occurs.

If you feel like you dream too much or all night, you may be waking immediately or after the REM stage.

What this all means, is that you are not sleeping as soundly as you could. It may be due to your sleep environment, your sleep partner, or something inside your mind.

Suggestions:

  • Examine your bedding to make sure it is comfortable enough and appropriate for you to sleep tight.
  • Replace any bedding that is old or worn out.
  • Pillows, for instance, should be replaced every 18 months.
  • If your mattress is old and uncomfortable, you might consider a topper to firm it up.
  • Talk to your sleep partner not to wake you up during your sleep hours.

Apart from this, one should note that people dream 5–6 times per night on average.

It doesn’t harm your health or your brain. It just depends on your sleep cycle.

That’s all from my knowledge box, hope it helps!
