Is Over-Saturation To Blame For Medium’s Decline?

We have all read the articles. You will find them all right here on Medium itself, most of the time.
Medium is, as it turns out, probably dying.
Views are going down, earnings are going down, and writers are stuck. We are frustrated. We are confused. This is many people’s only source of income, or at least, one of.
So what happened?
In terms of the discourse, Medium’s rules are often to blame, as it the rise of AI. But could something else also be a factor?
Are we over-saturated on this website?
Could it be?
Medium is a fantastic money-making blogging platform, so naturally, we have all flocked to it, it seems, and thank goodness for that. I love writing on here, and knowing that I have, at least, a relatively steady income, even if everything else fails. And I love reading other writers and getting to know them.
But I cannot wrap my head around just how many people there are on this platform. We are talking thousands and thousands. That’s thousands of writers to subscribe to, follow, read on a regular basis, comment on, not to mention having to differentiate between the ones that post very similar content and working out which one you’d…
