The new AMG GT43 but now with a 4 cylinder turbo, not a V8

This is the AMG GT 43 Coupe — a sleek combination of elegance and adrenaline-pumping performance. Sporting a relatively lightweight four-cylinder engine as opposed to the conventional V8. This time it’s like a nimble lightweight ninja around the corners. This new little 2 liter 4 cylinder engine comes with a turbo. But just because it has 4 less cylinders than the previous models doesn’t mean it doesn’t pack a punch. This 2.0L 4-banger makes 421 horsepower and about 370 ft-lbs of torque. Like I said, it might have lost its traditional engine but it’s still no slouch! Not with a transmission like Mercedes’ AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G, and also with its electric exhaust gas turbocharger straight from the Formula 1 playbook.

Mercedes decided to use a special way to spool up the turbocharger, and that’s with its 48-volt electric hybrid sytem that helps the turbo spool up faster and reduce lag in the low RPMS. This mild hybrid sytem also includes some capabilities, like coasting and recuperation, efficiency is clearly the name of the game here.

As for the driving experience, behind the wheel of the AMG GT 43, every twist and turn feels thrilling. Its multi-link front axle coupled with things like active aero and rear-axle steering, this car feels like its hugging the road, giving the driver the confidence when pushing the car’s limits.
