Medium 101: The Art of Commenting

I still think I am quite new to this Medium 101, but I thought the least I can do is share what has worked for me up until now, and the type of comments that actually made me more interested in writing — and in the person who commented as well.

Let me tell you this: reading and commenting on someone’s post is as important as writing an article here on Medium. The reason for this is that it’s your actual chance to market yourself (please don’t do it directly; it’s disrespectful — I will go into its details later) by leaving a relevant, thought-provoking comment because that post might be read by a lot of people, including the writer.

As they read your comment, it might lead them to set up a reputation about you as a writer from your comment. This, in turn, can help you gain viewership from that single comment. It has happened to me, and it can also happen to you if you follow these guidelines.
