Medium Has Done It Again: The Account Suspensions.
What’s Happening?
Okay, so I usually don’t obsessively check my Medium stats — I try not to get into that spiral. But I recently crossed 2,000 followers (yay, right?!), and I just wanted to open the app, take it all in, feel good, and maybe give myself a virtual high-five.
But instead… boom.
Minus 5 followers this month.
Wait, what?
This was the first time ever I saw a negative in my follower growth. I literally sat there staring at the number like, “What did I do wrong?”
My brain instantly started spinning:
Was it because I ended my 30-day Medium challenge?
Did people only follow me for that?
Did someone not like a story?
Did I offend someone?
But then I scrolled down to one of my recent stories that I had noticed earlier on my homepage. The one that had crossed 700+ claps. (I wish I remembered the exact number.) But when I checked it again, it now had only 594 claps.
And that’s when I knew:
Medium has done it again.
