My Strategy for Combatting Ageism in My Job Search
Honestly, I would say the best way for someone over 50 to work is to be their own boss.
So I’m on a journey to turn my life around. I’ve been in a rut since 2020, and in a really bad head space.
A lot of this stems from some stuff I’ve been going through with my husband, but without going into a long story, it’s finally come to an end.
Honestly, I would say the best way for someone over 50 to work is to be their own boss. That is my ideal. But I will probably have to work at something until I can get another business off the ground because, as we all know, the bills don’t stop coming!
I’ve been really doing some self-evaluation. Some of my financial goals just weren’t being met, and I was starting to think I wasn’t a good writer until I read this wonderful interview, Interview with Luwella Martina Edmonds from NYC by Dr Mehmet Yildiz of the Illumination Publication on Medium.
In the interview, the interviewee was asked, “Who are some writers you follow on ILLUMINATION?”
And one of the writers she mentioned was me!
I felt so happy! And I was extremely honored that she had been following and reading my work!
