No one will ever motivate you

Not even yourself, if you don’t care enough; It is your responsibility.

Life as we have it

Life is a strange affair. It has its own ways of operation. Sometimes it seems very fair, other times somewhat unjust . We all lead it abiding by our own rules, or without them.

Along the journey, we collect memories in our hearts; some bitter, some sweet. It’s a medley of ups and downs; tears and laughter; heartbreak and heart-healing.

Along the way, we meet with people of different propensities. Some of them make smiles blossom in our lives, others leave no stone unturned to make it worse than hell. There is always an imbalance between the two kinds; some people have more of the former type and some people have more of the latter type.

Despite this disparity, the lessons learned remain constant in both cases. In love we learn, and so do we in hatred.

It is a mystery as to how the human mind works and reacts to an external stimulus. The same stimulus generates different reactions in two different individuals. On one hand, one person sees opportunity in the face of adversity, on the other hand, another sees hopelessness.

How come such a difference in actions? The answer lies in their mindsets. When one person took adversity as a challenge, the other person let himself be overpowered by it. When one person saw hope, the other saw gloom.

Vantage point

It all starts with a matter of choice and ends in it. Nothing will push you to a decision, unless you take one. People have their own businesses to be taken care of. They just can clap for you, pat you on the back, or give a piece of advice. One thing they can’t do is drag you to action. That part is solely yours. It is where you are left on your own. Sail your ship to shore all by yourself. Others are on the mobile phone. They are verbally there. Only you know what your condition is and what you are capable of doing. It is where our belief system comes into play. Whatever you believe in is bound to come true, sooner or later.

Concluding thoughts

Some of us lose sight of the bigger picture when ephemeral comfort seems to be at stake. Others look at the rather bigger picture and take steps at the cost of fleeting comfort. That’s when one has to push through a dilemma - instant gratification or long-term gratification? That is the hour of truth. And our choice decides our fate in the long run.

Peace of mind is the most valuable treasure of all.I wandered all around in search of it.It is within me that I found it.
