Where is Opium Manufactured?
Opium is produced from the flower of opium poppy plant. They grow best in warm and dry climates.
Most of the opium in the world is grown in parts of Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand and parts of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iran.
They are produced by cutting down the seed pods of the poppy plants in order to collect a sticky sap.
Further, this sap is dried and turned into raw opium. Isn't that so interesting!!
Here comes something very important. That is, some of this opium is used legally for manufacturing medicines.
However ,a lot of it is sold illegally to make drugs like heroin, even though it isn't supposed to!
