Never have I ever imagined that from watching movies I would come up with an idea on how to set a plan like a mastermind.

I love to watch movies and series, especially, when it’s fiction.

Recently, I finished watching The Wheel of Time, which was amazing. (Silently planning to read the book).

Spoiler Alert!

The story follows Rand al ‘Thor and his friends as they discover their roles in the Pattern, a cosmic wheel dictating the cyclical nature of time. Rand learns he is the Dragon Reborn, destined to save or doom the world. The group faces the Dark One’s threat, navigating political strife, magic, and prophecies.

Overall, It’s a classic story of light against dark. Where the Dark One planned to get Rand from their side away from the Light.

After watching the series, I wondered how villains get to execute their plans to get the protagonist, but still, they failed.

On the other hand, the protagonist, always, finds a way to overcome challenges.

They have the plan but there’s a missing piece. Then, a what-if idea comes across in my mind.

What if we combine the two characters (the villain and protagonist) in setting your plan — like a mastermind?

Think Like a Villain

Thinking like a villain involves meticulous planning, a strategy often seen in antagonists determined to achieve their main goal.

A combatant.

To twist and bend every possible event.

In ‘The Wheel of Time,’ Ishamael, a formidable member of the Dark One’s forces, exemplifies this approach by crafting a plan to persuade Rand to join their side — a clear main goal.

To execute this, Ishamael strategically involves Rand’s friends, creating subgoals that act as bait.

This singular focus on one main goal, supported by carefully designed subgoals, mirrors the precision of a well-thought-out action plan.

Villains, whether in fiction or reality, rarely juggle multiple main goals but instead channel their efforts into subgoals that significantly contribute to the overarching objective.

Act Like a Protagonist

Protagonists are the force that moves the story till the end. The very stars that illuminate the narrative.

Despite the meticulous plan of the villain — the protagonist consistently manages to break through.

Rand and his friends have different roles and characters, but they have one similarity — the attitude of resilience and determination.

They stand against the dark one — escaping and solving the booby trap.

Their relentless determination to save each other and resiliency after the long journey they took to get together was unmatched.

Having explored the journey of Rand and his friends we can draw a parallel to real-life scenarios.

The protagonist’s journey teaches us that overcoming challenges requires not only a well-crafted plan but also an unshakeable spirit.

Now, let’s connect the fictional narrative and practical insights into our own lives.

Lessons for Real-Life Planning

The anatomy of setting an effective plan was not a secret for everyone. Much like the characters in our favorite stories, we all have roles to fulfill in the narratives of our lives. However, the magic lies in how we manage, pinpoint, and execute our plans. Here are the bullet points of what I learned.

· A plan with a specific main goal and aligned subgoals creates a well-thought-out action plan.

· Resilience and determination are needed to execute the plan.

The concept is simple.

Just like writing, you need to plan the story, the structure, and even where to publish. The process takes determination because it is not all about dumping your ideas but it’s about your main goal — to continuously improve and become a better writer than yesterday.

Ending: The Mastermind Plan

I am not a villain, but a writer to my plan.

A protagonist of my own story.

Just like me, you are the mastermind of your plan and the protagonist of your own story.

The magic relies on you.

Wait, I have something to tell.

Here’s where your magic can shine even brighter.
