I see a “writing advice” article every day on my Medium feed. These articles give the same boring advice like:

  • Write more
  • Just write
  • Consistency is key
  • Show up

I’m not saying this advice isn’t good or will not help you. However, such articles repeat the same context over and over again.

It’s time you either stop listening to that advice or start finding someone actually worth taking advice from.

The problem is not with the writers. Instead, it is with you—the reader—who constantly reads them and thinks they will improve by consuming that knowledge.

Here’s the truth: If you are reading articles with the same writing advice over and over again, the problem is that you aren’t taking action. If you had followed the advice after learning them once or twice, you’d skip them and read stories that are actually worth your time.

But no, you see a clickbaity headline and are intrigued to click on it. Then, you waste 5 minutes re-reading the same crap.

Stop reading and start taking action.
