Many writers and creators share every part of their creative journey online, which is a good thing. They learn, receive feedback on their work, and improve as a result. However, some people share too much, which means they overexpose others to what they are doing, potentially causing more harm than good.

When people share too much, they are also visible everywhere. You see them whenever you refresh your feed. In a way, it becomes less exciting for the audience to hear from them. Too much of everything is always bad.

Now comes the power of quiet creation. It’s the art of consistently creating valuable content without oversharing your work.

What is the first thing you do when you publish an article (or a piece of creative work)?

Perhaps you could post it on social media, send it to your email subscribers, or simply wait for it to gain traction organically. When you think of these methods, the initial two seem useful, as they help people get exposed to your work quickly. However, it’s the third one that’s actually more essential.
