The Real Reason You’re Not Making Progress

Suddenly is not real. Things happen one step at a time.

I’m sitting down at my table for an ideation moment.

I love ideation. I love digging into myself to figure my potential. I love thinking. I love how silence challenges me by showing how much more I can do.

And in this moment, as I’m trying to put pieces of my mind together, I am realizing one truth:

Achievement is a step-by-step journey.

You probably know this.

You’ve probably heard of it somewhere.

But it’s true. It’s not just cliche.

To get to the pinnacle where everyone looks up to you as the epitome of great success, you have to take one step at a time.

Nobody suddenly arrives.

Great people are products of little decisions that eventually add up.

The LinkedIn Lesson

I opened a LinkedIn page on my laptop and the “other similar profiles” popped up with different bios.

You know how LinkedIn works.

Author of Xyz…

Founder of Xyz…

#1 NY Times Bestselling Author…

Building 7-figure company @xyz…

I recognized some of the profiles. The last time I saw them, they were not “here” in their career.

They had fewer followers.

They had less accomplishments.

Their current wins were still in the works.

But today they are here. They have moved higher in the rank of achievement. Their profiles are more refined and premium looking.

A person starting his career might look at this and go, “Whew, these people are wayy ahead of me.”

Not realizing that just like him, these high-up people simply kept going, one step at a time.

Great outcomes come from doing one thing at a time and being committed to it.

If all you do is sit down and look at how far people have gone, wondering where you’ll start from, you probably won’t get anywhere.

You’ll settle for mediocrity.

You won’t put in the needed effort to get to the next stage.

So, instead of comparing yourself, embrace your process.

Be disciplined right where you are, work towards your vision, one step at a time.

Make a decision. Work on it. Then scale. Rinse and repeat till your vision starts materializing.

That’s how become an example in your world.
