Yesterday, I came across devastating news on the internet.
At first I didn’t realise the severity of the incident, when I first saw some pictures on Facebook.
Later on, as I dug deeper, I came to know how the terrorists had stormed Pahalgam’s Baisaran meadow.
It is a beautiful place in India, which is known as so serene, they call it “mini Switzerland.”
The attack on April 22, 2025, wasn’t just numbers— total of 28 lives were lost, while 20 injured.
A case came forward , of a 26-year-old Navy officer, Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, who got married just five days earlier.
His honeymoon ended in a meadow turned massacre site. Can you imagine the pain of the bride?
What was their fault in all these?
Survivors described gunmen in military uniforms emerging from forests, they were posing as police before firing.
They asked victims to recite Islamic verses, and even checked for circumcision.
They spared women to “narrate the horrors” .
One woman screamed for help as her husband bled out, while another watched her father die after failing to recite the "kalma".
