You don’t stumble on a statement that changes your worldview everyday.

That lucky day was a few days ago for me.

The advice was simple: speak when you have something to say.

Here’s how this statement changes a narrativin two ways:

Have something to say? Say it.

We often shrink back in fear because we feel we’re not “qualified enough” to share what’s on our heart.

Writers, lawyers, parents — everyone suffers from this imposter syndrome.

Funny, but it happens.

So let’s make life simple again.

Have something to say? then say it.

Nobody has it all figured out anyway.

Have nothing to say? Keep shut.

This idea removes the pressure of performance.

There are times you’re working on a project or sitting in the midst of a situation that warrants you to say something.

But you have nothing.

And that’s okay.

Instead of coming up with words that make you sound smart, keep quiet.

Silence is golden.

Take that time to learn, think, reflect.

Don’t make up words you think other people want to hear.

Nobody likes a smart fake.

Just be yourself.
