People in the sixties ate white bread, pancakes, and red meat wondering why they were getting heart attacks.

People in the 2020s binge on social media, isolate themselves socially and do drugs wondering why their mental health suffers.

Stress never goes unnoticed

For most of the semester, I used to go to the library at 8 AM and leave at 8 PM. There was no time for friends, relaxation, or hobbies.

After a while, I started feeling lonely. My mental health was declining.

I didn’t understand why. Nothing had happened — I was successful at what I did and I had great friends.

Only after taking a closer look, I realized what was going on.

I ate healthy, exercised, and slept 8 hours a night which ensured my physical health.

But wasn’t doing anything to support my mental health.

The lack of socializing and recreation left me vulnerable to the mental effects of my stressful daily routine.
