Wall clocks? Everyone has them. We have our days scheduled around the ticks and tocks of these clocks. From waking up to sleeping to attending some very important events and meetings in between, our schedules are synchronized with time.

But, imagine you wake up one morning only to find out that all clocks including the digital ones in our mobiles and laptops have vanished from everywhere, worldwide.

You will not hear the ticking and alarm sound of the clock, anymore. Just silence where the familiar sound of the clock used to be.

Suddenly, our morning routines are thrown into utter chaos.

Without the alarm to wake us up from a deep and sweet night's sleep, we might oversleep and find ourselves in a rush to get ready for the day ahead.

The thought of being late to our workplaces/schools sends a shiver down our spine.

However, as the day passes, we notice something interesting happening. Without the constant sound of time ticking away, we start to follow our body’s natural rhythm, also known as “circadian rhythms” which guide us through the day.

Our bodies have this internal clock which scientist name as “biological clock”.

This clock regulates our sleep-wake cycle, hormone levels and other psychological processes. When we are not attacked by external time reminders, our biological clock takes over.

It helps us wake up when we have enough sleep and our body feels rested.

During the day, our energy levels ebb and flow following these circadian rhythms. We find ourselves naturally slowing down as the evening approaches, signalling it’s time to wrap up and prepare for sleep.

As the day is about to end, we find ourselves following our natural instincts and listening to our bodies rather than relying upon the clocks to tell us when to sleep and wake up.

We simply follow the signals of drowsiness and relaxation.

While the absence of clocks threw us into chaos at first, it also provided us with a chance to reconnect with our body’s natural rhythm and trust in its abilities to guide us through the day.

It’s a reminder that clocks help us stay organized throughout the day, but our bodies have an innate sense of time that can serve us just well and even sometimes better.

PS>> Let’s share more over a cup of coffee☕.
