What to Do When You Have Nothing to Write About (But Need to Write)
6 strategies to help you write instantly
Creative work, like writing, requires ideas. You need to have something to talk about that helps people and gives you a sense of satisfaction.
We’ve all been there — not having anything to write about even when we should. I’ve planned many weeks where I wanted to publish 4–5 articles, but I only ended up with 1 or 2. It wasn’t because I had no time to write or got busy. It was because I didn’t know what to write about.
It gets frustrating when you commit yourself to writing every day but can’t.
But I’ve learned that having “nothing to write about” doesn’t mean you are out of options. You just need a way to get unstuck.
Here are a few ideas that helped me find the inspiration to write even when I thought I had nothing in my tank.
Set the bar to a minimum.
