Why Not All Efforts Bear Fruit

It’s a fact that not all the hard yards we cover will lead us to the finish line, and science backs this up.

Some of our efforts must be spent on paths we already know won’t take us directly to our destination.

The reason this is true is simple: no matter which phase of life you’re in, you’ve likely experienced it.

Whether in job hunting or discovering our interests, we don’t always get straight to our desired result.

Instead, we face obstacles before we can carve out the right path to reach our goal.

Now, this isn’t just something we can confirm through experience; one of the most fundamental scientific principles supports it.

I know that if you don’t come from a scientific background, you might be rolling your eyes right now — but hear me out.

Before I explain further, let me introduce the principle that explains all this.

The law I’m talking about is the Second Law of Thermodynamics. What makes this law so fascinating is how it applies across many fields — from engines to black holes, and yes, even in our own lives.
