Not too long ago, I got to know about Trauma Bombing from TikTok.
Essentially, it means when someone shares painful stories to gain sympathy and in the worst cases solicit financial help.
And it occurred to me that this has been happening for centuries. It’s nothing new.
Because we are told to be compassionate and understanding of other people’s pain, some people have mastered the art of manipulation so well they can turn their pain into profits.
You know like the Brick Lady, Rhoda, who later turned out to be a scammer. This woman was rude to a guy that asked her out and he hit her with a brick.
From the video we saw her traumatized and crying and was mad some guys stood by and watched her get beaten by a stranger.
The internet blew up, sympathizing with this woman until another woman investigated the story, exposed her lies, and revealed that she had been involved with two similar schemes and had made money from her GoFundMe page from people who bought her lies.
Don’t get me wrong here. I do not agree with her being hit because she rejected a guy. However, this woman abuses men…
