There was a time I believed the first story I heard.

The naïve me learned many lessons along the way.

Everything is true. Yet not true at the same time.

Once, my sister-in-law and her husband had a fierce argument.

After the fight, she opened her vulnerable, bleeding heart. I felt her pain, helplessness, and frustration.

Her story made sense. Clear. Sharp. Emotional. I was ready to stand by her, ready to take her side.

Until I heard my cousin’s side.

It was a completely different version.

Yet strangely, both were true.

I have been a silent observer and a reluctant mediator in many fights over the years.
