Your Content Writing Recipe for 2025
Short. Sweet. Sincere.
Rumors have it that long articles don’t work anymore.
Sad.
I’m a big fan of long-form content. If you check my publications here, you’ll see that most are long reads.
But let’s face it:
None has gone viral.
Oops.
Users are busy, they say. Some are just lazy, to be honest. Yet, most have no time to read my lengthy, boring paragraphs:
Their attention span is short (8 seconds to grab attention), and their reading habits have changed (most are scrolling content on their phones).
❓ What shall I do?
Give up long reads (for a while, at least) and give 2–3 minute read articles a try.
❗ I did it. My shortest article on Medium is 3 min read:
Guess what?
No claps or comments boom, which gives me a hint that the recipe for success is not just about length.
So, here’s the deal:
- 👉 Write for readers, not yourself. (Give them something they’ll enjoy and relate to.)
- 👉 Short paragraphs and bucket brigades are a must! (Think of mobile readers.)
- 👉 No AI. (You have unique experience and insights. Why not share that?)
57% of content on the internet today is AI-generated.
Think like a reader:
Do you want to consume superficial, human-imitating writing on topics only a lazy hadn’t been chewing and spitting out dozens of times already?
- 👉 Give emotions and value fast. (No: truisms or lengthy passages with no meat. Yes: short guides that encourage readers to act.)
- 👉 Motivate and inspire. (Don’t be afraid to look vulnerable. Share failures and lessons learned, not mere success. Who loves super-duper flawless characters?)
Superman is meh. Aquaman is a crush.

- 👉 Tell stories. (Forget “How to” lecture-like content; focus on “How I” instead.)
- 👉 Be authentic. (Readers don’t need perfection — they need connection.)
