Your Creative Juices Won’t Flow Every Day. Here’s How to Keep The Momentum Going.
If you’ve ever done creative work for a consistent amount of time, you know how hard it is to keep the juices flowing. Ideas won’t appear out of thin air, and when you don’t have anything to create, the frustration overtakes your head. You get into an uninspirational loop.
Creativity is like motivation — it keeps going up and down. Doing creative work depends on ideas and inspiration. At least, that’s what most creatives believe in. When you rely heavily on them, you are inconsistent in producing a good amount of work. Hence, the quality also declines.
I can’t comprehend how many times I’ve given up on writing because I was uninspired. I’m talking weeks here. There’s even been an entire month I couldn’t produce anything good. But later, I realized that my own mindset kept me from creating.
That’s the word — mindset.
If you believe you are unable to come up with ideas and produce something meaningful, you won’t. You will hold yourself back, thinking this is not your time. You will wait for the perfect moment and circumstances as if they magically appear when desired.
Sorry to disappoint you, but waiting for the perfect time, idea, and circumstance will only make things work. Even if you do find a good time…
