Your Writing is Terrible And The FOM Badge Won’t Save You
The solution to diminishing stats
The Friend of Medium badge is not a shortcut to large earnings. If your writing sucks, no badge can save you.
Since the introduction of the FOM badge, there has been a high tendency for writers to upgrade from the Medium membership due to the earning potential that this new badge could provide.
The logic is that upgrading will bring more earnings, as writers will flock in to read their content while hoping they reciprocate these reads due to the 4x earning benefit associated with the badge.
This sometimes gives them a false sense of accomplishment like they’ve made it as a writer whom other writers cannot do without.
This doesn’t apply to every FOM. Writers are not all the same. This is only for a few who feel having the badge is enough
