Systems Planning For Personal Development
Personal Knowledge Management as a Solution to Information Overload
Cognitive Load Theory and Information Systems for Everyday Doers
As we begin to focus on the New Year, I’m mindful of the vast amount of information we’re all responsible for. As we mindfully plan our goals for the New Year, I encourage you to sweep your public education system criticisms aside and align your focus on the daily tasks, responsibilities, and projects related to “Life Management.”
Part of my “Life Management” process includes revisiting and reviewing activities over a given year. What started as an annual review process of digital hygiene, the ritualistic digging through old emails, text messages, and files has had the opportunity to refine itself.
Closely associated with concepts related to digital avatars the goal has been and will continue to be:
- Identifying opportunities for improvement
- Sunsetting legacy processes, systems, tools, and tasks
- Analyzing Qualitative and Quantitative Life Data
My annual routine reviews the different personas I adopt to get through the year.
