Knowledge is Power

“Knowledge is power” Francis Bacon .

Knowledge is the initiative of civilization , which has guided humanity from its beginnings to progress. If a people can not acquire knowledge does not progress, is at the mercy of ignorance. Thus knowledge became one of the pillars as Nelson Mandela said “ The education in knowledge is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. “ Is this right ?

The Man with the different tools provided by technology has tried to replace those activities that required time and effort , making our welfare. This process has reached the point that we are self- replacing ; our communications are no longer direct , human relations are limiting . Replace us ? ? Or machines replace us ? I believe that the alleged questions are true , for years the technology was embedded in society, but this is changing , now society has been radically modified to adapt to technology.

The exponential growth of technology over the last decade , has led us to be different people. For centuries man manufactured technology , ie , the knowledge was passed down from generation to generation. Currently not all know how to create a calculator let alone a computer, knowledge is not transmitted , and in some cases and not in man ‘s manufactures , processes are created automatically by simply these processors.

Knowledge is Power

The rise of social networking , communication , internationalization of information, scanning , security systems , economic activities , volumetric machines that are capable of making an object, make us lose touch with our own world that was made for us , we are guided by a digital world , the web or computer . We no longer think as before, even up to the reasoning there is a replacement; example , a simple sum or our ability to make a written may be relieved .

I just think that technology should be a means to achieve progress , help us think , do not think for us, help us to facilitate our work , not replace us . The technology benefits society as long as they do not replace that which makes us human , we must learn from our mistakes and not let the machines learn the correct no .

That is, the man in the story sought ways to simplify your life and improve methods that necessarily had to be improved , such as cooking system that we currently have in our homes. Our current civilization is based on technology. It is a civilization based on religious or philosophical , but these elements were exponents that defined many states , as in the Middle Ages. So who has the control technology is the one with the power. Which leads me to ask who is really who has the power ?

Admittedly, the struggle for control of knowledge is currently underway in the roots of a new digital society , discernment , we are building today. But meanwhile, it becomes necessary to ask what we forge with scientific and technological advances ; we feel compelled to ask who controls those advances , who is in favor and what companies are building model from them ?

The same technology that makes life easier is that which separates us . One who is able to destroy us is what heals us of the most fatal epidemics . It seems that in every century discover new threats to human society, weapons of war, intelligence services combined with counterintelligence . Many advances have benefited mankind dramatically ; the significant improvement of our quality of life , the cure countless diseases, and many other achievements. And while the same technology developed tools of mass destruction capable of destroying the world in seconds , how is it possible that the same technology that heals us , improves our life which destroys us ? Interests … interests of those who covet power and do not speak of individuals but of societies , countries, led by them. It is correct to use technological tools for our protection but we use protection indirectly destroy .

During the twentieth century mathematical theorems that throughout the course of history , and many of them have found applications in different fields of science , from computer science to humanities were checked . During that same century , science learned about the functioning of the human body , genetics and ability developed hitherto unimagined , to manipulate life . Never man had such capacity calculation , scientific and technical development and mastery over nature. However, never was so on edge cause its own destruction and the times . Weapons of mass destruction and the inability to measure the consequences of the indiscriminate use of certain engineering advances such as genetic manipulation or the development of nanotechnology, put us facing a time in which the human being must necessarily question the science itself produced . Changing the idea that all developments are invariably positive and placing them in the right social , political or economic environment .

Some questions that arise are almost regularly who controls knowledge? Who has the right to say yes or no to certain developments ? Knowledge , culture, allowing us to develop technological advances , are essentially social , collective constructions . No one can claim ownership or originality. Culture is built collectively , and disperses the same way . Today there are technologies and tools to communicate, facilitating and encouraging this spread , but these advances , the result of the technological revolution that we live in, put in check a system of power , the power to control what people read, hear , produce , ven. We can not deny that in history there have been events that caused whole societies are to be convinced and convinced to follow an ideology imposed by certain interests .

The machinery of mass media and the industries that have the aim of entertaining have extensive experience in setting agenda and decide what will interest the public . This is , without a doubt , the result of media concentration that has been occurring in recent decades . Globalization is a fact that affects the power and prosperity arising from certain groups who have accumulated the most valuable skills in identifying and solving problems. Groups of people can be found anywhere in the world. That’s how come into play monopoly regimes , interest spread and distributed by them.

The core value of this company is innovation and scientific and technical knowledge — fed largely on traditional knowledge , inherited — and is on its control that we are debating today.

The question that follows immediately after the issue of control , is who has the right to deny others access to knowledge ? And this is where we find some more interesting and certainly complex discussions . Do you have a lab right to prevent a country that requires manufactures drugs for public health , to stop pandemics or to improve the quality of life of its citizens? Is a corporation entitled to prevent people without access to food or products that are vital in some cases? It is difficult to answer these questions with anything other than a resounding “no” . Does the knowledge that someone in the world discovers it belongs ? It’s different from a book a song that you invent , create with your imagination , but the discovery belongs to someone ? …

The world has been systematized and we can see every day in every moment : collective magnetic cards , global access from our cell , controlled by supercomputers financial networks ; why systems were created to protect is why methods and computer network communication can lead entire countries , why are so dangerous cyber- attacks. For example if a hacker , capable of disrupting these systems, invades a simple service of transport cards , the whole system would fall . The security that developed countries can sometimes get to control and monitor these networks , the consequence of these mechanisms is of consequential lack of what is known as freedom.

The technology was, is and will be a factor that is present in humanity forever. There should be an understanding that gives us heal and protect destruction. As Albert Einstein said, “ Every day we know more and understand less” ; technology can not be a means to replace what makes us human , reason, think and understand , much less despise what that entails, “ With power comes responsibility,” says Immanuel Kant, a power that must be handled responsibly , the technology should be available to all and not motivated by self-serving greed that can turn it into a means of joint destruction .

Technology should adapt to society did not adapt to it.

Do not remplace what make us human, Think.
