Write One Leaf in Which You Describe Someone Who Is Out Standing in Their Field
Yes. We know what we did there. What of it?
Use the photo and the title as a prompt as inspiration for moving your hands in a manner that resembles writing. Be playful. Fool around. Make dumb jokes. Don’t take yourself so seriously!
Keep your hands moving for as long as you feel there is something to be gained from the process.
As always, do not allow yourself to be limited by the contents of the prompt or by what you see in the photo.
If it feels more appropriate to write about something else, or you get taken way off topic by whatever is happening in your hands, go for it. The entire point is to keep those hands moving.
- You owe reality nothing.
- Reality owes you nothing.
- Reality is a garbage fire full of garbage and fire.
What is all this?
Also: Write One Leaf is a Medium publication by Terry Bain, who is the author of You Are a Dog and We Are the Cat, as well as many short stories, a biography, and too many poems. Links that lead outside the publication may be sponsored (like this one). To be sure you receive all Write One Leaf prompts, click the “follow” button on the home page (it may also appear on this page, if we have all our p’s and q’s in order… but I’m not going to make any promises because this is the internet, and the internet changes… a lot).
Feel free to write your Leaf as a response to this prompt, or include a link to this page in your own Medium post. We’d love to see what you’re up to.
