When you go to self-publish any book on Amazon KDP — an ebook, a paperback, or a hardcover (now in beta!) — you will come to the section at the bottom of the first page to select up to 2 categories for your book.
No matter what type of book you are publishing, whether it is a coloring book, a nonfiction tome, a journal, or a novel, you want to select 2 categories that it best fits within — these let Amazon know how to sort your book and where it belongs.
Your category choices, along with your keywords, are how Amazon shoppers find your book.
But it can sometimes be confusing to know where YOUR book belongs.
How to choose KDP categories
