Veronica took the driver’s seat so Wendy could make some phone calls and Jim could do whatever he needed. She wondered what business Jim had in New York or if he was just going to help with things in The Underground again and figure out what to do about Dr. Marx and Mr. Felix. Veronica wondered what Wendy thought about Jim coming back with them after not seeing him for so many years. From what she saw in the last twenty-four hours, Jim and Wendy were going to pick up where they left off years ago.
Wendy joined Veronica in the front of the jeep, while Jim spread himself out along the back seat. He pulled his phone out and started typing away. Before starting on their journey again, Veronica sent a quick message to Cameron, “Hey, when you get a chance, I need you to go talk to your friends in IT over at Unified Nexus.”
Cameron replied right away, “Sure, what’s up?”
“See if you can find out what Mr. Felix is up to. We were just in New Mexico and burned down the building that he owns. Wendy and I are headed back to New York right now, but it’s going to take us a few days.”
“Okay, I’ll go see Elijah and find out what I can. I’ll let you know if I get anything that might be useful.” Cameron responded.
