As she rounded the corner, Becky pulled her phone from a pocket, still shaking from her run-in with the doctor. She clicked a few buttons and dialed Sarah’s number.
“Hey Bex, what’s happening?” Sarah answered cheerily.
“I just had the most bizarre experience,” Becky responded.
“Uh oh, were the construction workers catcalling you again?”
“No, worse… I just ran into Dr. Marx, literally. He was busy looking up at some building and bumped into me and knocked me to the ground.”
‘Oh, shit! Are you okay? You have to tell Wendy. I’m not even sure where she is right now other than on her way back to New York.”
“I’m fine, but it freaked me out a little. I think he recognized me, too. I didn’t give him time to ask anything other than ‘Do I know you?’”
“That’s good news. Just get back to The Underground as soon as you can. We will call Wendy once you get here.”
“I’m going to send her a message right now. In case the doctor decides to follow me, I’m sharing my location with you. I don’t see him anymore, but you never know.”
“I see it now. I’ll keep an eye on my phone until you get here.” Sarah responded before hanging up.
