Between a Rock and a Museum
Short Story
*This is the next story in the The City that Never Sleeps series.*
Mayor Castlebridge and Enzo zigzag their way through the crowds of people on the main level of the MOMA. Filled with tourists, it’s the perfect place to go and not be recognized.
A representative from the museum was notified ahead of time that they would be arriving and met the two gentlemen and ticket entry. Jennifer, along with the security detail, took the elevator up to the sixth floor. As they approached the restaurant, many art enthusiasts sat discussing different pieces of art they had seen so far.
Jennifer walked her guests to a table in a quiet corner of the café and the security men scattered around trying to not look too out of place. “Here you are gentleman, I hope this will do. No one should bother you over here.”
Enzo spoke up, “Thank you, Jennifer. We appreciate your accommodating us on such short notice. Hopefully, we do not cause too much of a commotion for your patrons.”
Mayor Castlebridge continued, “Yes, thank you for these arrangements. We just want to get a bite to eat and possibly look around a bit afterward.”
