Diamonds of Sparkling Sun
A poem
Jul 12, 2024
As you sit in the shade
near the shoreline,
letting Lake Huron capture
your thoughts and dreams,
know that I’m here,
wishing I could trade places
with a body of water:
I would rinse your feet
whenever you drew near,
I would give you
diamonds of sparkling sun,
with every wave and ripple,
I would lull you to sleep
with endless seashell balladry.
