“The Seine at Bougival in the Evening”, an impressionist painting by Claude Monet depicting the Seine at sundown, with the setting sun casting shades of yellow and orange on the clouds.
Monet, Claude, “The Seine at Bougival in the Evening”. 1869, Museum of Art Smith College, Northampton

even after the heaviest rain,
the sun always returns —

     every puddle
     a mirror of light,

     every droplet
     a gleaming jewel,

     every aroma
     a wet fragrant flower,

     a chorus reflecting a love
     that was always there.
