Experiencing the Truth of Contradiction

A simple photo may celebrate synchronicity and move us beyond belief

A few years ago in Boston I snapped this picture of one of my favorite buildings anywhere. I didn’t notice the lens effect until “tonight.” Earlier “today” Google Photo sent me the memory. The building is the I.M. Pei-designed John Hancock Tower. From certain angles from each side, it appears two-dimensional.

look in decide for yourself

a picture grabs me
juxtapositions gobsmack
supermassive boom
past and present converging
that’s impossible yet true

experiences
say not only possible
but reality
synchronicity abounds
whether or not you accept

just like the word “god”
he she they gender more or
less shit fucking give
soul came to experience
not believing, cool with me

right there is the rub
matters not what you believe
experience all
good bad love hate and evil
we will discuss in heaven
