Finally Freedom
Walking towards the dawn of every man

I step out onto
this endless plain
of yellow grass
ancient thirsts
and the occasional tree
rising into arid sky
I leave everything
I have ever owned
everything
I have ever been
everything
I have ever evered
My white boubou
as long thin cloth
a scant weapon
against a sun
like this
as shoe and homeless
I part grass
toward far far horizon
heading for
the once dawn
of every man
Our original home
They have burned them
all my things they took
my desires
my greed
my needs
I sacrificed them all
for banishment
