WRITE UNDER THE MOON
Heavy Hearts
A poem

Unseen,
unheard,
yet built into
volumes turned low,
heavy hearts,
bundled bones
cellular time
and an uncorked
grief
flow —
it is this day
my mind
opens roots
to have nots
wills
and won’ts.
It is this day
I heard
my frayed blue gown
fracture ground,
far around
the messiness
of misty hallways
and for once,
it drowned out
my own
stagnating sounds —
Yet I still
fade my walk
inside black circles,
painting skies before shadows
pale my skin
into an
about face.
