I Want You

But I Don’t Want To

I want you.
But sometimes I don’t want to
I think happy thoughts and let the bad ones pass through

I want you
When we are together it fills my life’s frame.
Pictures of happiness and the love we had claimed.

I want you.
When we argued last night and you began crying.
Every tear that fell on your cheek made me feel a little closer to dying.

I want you
Even though you conveniently forget.
All the little crimes you commit without showing regret.

I want you.
Yet you leave my love light hidden from view in a solitary palace.
while you shine yours for others to see like aurora borealis

I want you.
Though you think your tricks and lies keep me guessing.
I’ve got questions I want to ask that I’m simply repressing.

I want you
Even when his name rises from your lips while my hands hold you down.
Is it him that excites you or is it the thrill of playing me for a clown?
