A shadow in the sun  — man making a heart with his hands

Valentine’s Day, I’m too tired for you. I hear hearts fluttering and gods, I honestly don’t know what to do.

Chocolate boxes, fluffy bears and all things red and pink… I’m walking through downtown and it somehow makes me want to shrink.

I would rather be a cat lingering by the fire all day, or spread my wings like a bird — anything to get away.

When people come, their life comes along with them. Sometimes days are bright, but sometimes times are rough — and we need to go through it.

Love is fields of cotton, flower petals and chocolates too… But what people don’t tell you is that it’s not always up to you.

Ashes of everyday life flutter around your cheeks, a list of grocery shopping and a pile of unpaid bills. Worries about work and an argument with one’s boss… Sometimes Valentine’s comes and you just want to run for the woods.

I don’t want no chocolates and plans to go out. I feel that I’d rather stay in and make out. But society pressures and our phones constantly ring — are you celebrating Valentine’s with a bling?..

Hairdressers booked, a dress prepped and a dinner for two — loads of plans for tomorrow and a busy afternoon. Looking forward to the weekend — what a joy when it comes. Life is sometimes exhausting, who knew that love too was?..

I might not be in a romantic mood this Valentine’s Day. Presents prepared and good emotions — hopefully — will come. It’s sometimes more about other people than us… And I suppose it’s part of the charm too.

If a relationship is sincere, love blooms all year round. We don’t need a reminder to pamper our partner — showing affection and appreciation is a daily practice. On the flip side, some tend to remember such things once a year and it happens to be tomorrow… Let’s see how that goes!..

Wishing everyone a lovely Valentine’s!

My scribbles dive into a variety of topics. Yet whether I scribble fantasy or horror, highly opinionated or research-driven pieces, I hope it leaves you with something to ponder: makes you feel better (or worse?..), strikes an inner monologue (hopefully, voiced out in the comments!) or simply gives you something to chew on, inspiring to keep the creative ball rolling.

Thank you for reading!
